(McHalsky) Coulter, William & Margaret (3x Great Grands)

As promised, I will make every effort to keep living family members from appearing on this blog without their explicit consent.  I have also removed the other side of the family off this graphic, for the sake of trying to keep it simple.

Coulter, William & Margaret (3x Great Grandparents)

This is where the Coulter family gets a little sticky. They were both born in Ireland and married there, so I don't have any information on U.S. Census records that would suggest siblings and family relations that I can follow backwards.  You'll notice that Ancestry suggested parents for both William and Margaret, but I want to be able to tie them together with documents in hand before I add them to this blog as verified ancestors. Because I don't know anything about either of their families and I haven't been able to find an obituary for either of them that might provide that information, I'm holding off on going back any further.

I have census records for William and Margaret from after they came to the U.S., but all the kids were born in Ireland as well, so there isn't much information to be had so far. They came to the U.S. in 1858 (William was already 40 and Margaret 49 at this point), but they were traveling on the upper deck of the Bridgewater, so it would appear they had some money? He's a farmer in the U.S., so who knows.

Documents: census records, boat manifest
